We have Blue Hole diving/snorkeling tour from San Pedro. You can go to San Pedro from Belize City by airplane or water taxi (boat). I took Belize Express water taxi, and it took 1 hour and half to San Pedro. The boat is middle-sized, I think 60-70 people were on the same boat.
San Pedro is the most popular resort destination in Belize, and it has very different atmosphere from Belize City. There is a long beautiful beach and there are lots of hotels and restaurants along the coast. They have many souvenir shops also. You can rent a golf cart or bicycle to see around the island.
Caye Caulker, which your boat stop before arriving San Pedro, is called the island for backpackers. It is also famous sightseeing area but they have cheaper hostels and restaurants than San Pedro. Caye Caulker doesn’t have cars, so you can use only golf carts.
I left San Pedro at 6ish in the morning with 2 diver guests and went to Blue Hole by boat. It takes 3 hours to reach there in rougher seas. We could see wonderful sunrise on a boat. They served breakfast with watermelon, pineapple, some bread and coffee. On the way to Blue Hole, we could see dolphins!
The first dive was in Blue Hole. You can dive to a depth of 130 feet/40m and see many stalactites in the sea. The best way to get a whole picture of Blue Hole is taking a Cessna, but the best way to be close to Blue Hole is taking a boat.
We enjoyed Belizean traditional food for lunch on a boat. Rice and beans, stewed chicken and macaroni salad. This combo is really popular. After lunch, the boat was anchored in peaceful desert island, Half Moon Caye. You can go on shore or swim around the island.
The third dive was hold near this island, and we could see lots of colorful fish and a big turtle. All guests got tired so slept on the bench or the floor to San Pedro. We went back to San Pedro around 5 pm.
