There are only a few places in the world where the elusive manatee are found. One of those places is in Belize. Start the day by making our way to Swallow Caye where we will see the endangered West Indian Manatee in their natural habitat from the boat. (No swimming with the Manatee).
Then head on to Goff’s Caye where sand and coral surround this mysterious island to snorkel the reef, thereafter have lunch and after pull out your beach towels and relax under the swaying coconut palms on the pristine white beaches.

Enjoy diving / snorkeling in The Great Blue Hole, UNESCO World Heritage! This is a three stop snorkel trip with the first stop being the famous Great Blue Hole in the middle of the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. Then it is on to Half Moon Caye for your second snorkel and lunch. Look for the red-footed boobie birds while on shore. We then proceed on to your final snorkel of the day at “The Aquarium” at Long Caye.
Made famous by Jaques Cousteau, the Blue Hole is 1000ft/333m in diameter, and 410ft/125m deep. We descend along the edge of the Blue Hole, in the area most likely to be visited by reef sharks. At 135ft/42m, we swim through stalagtites formed by a limestone cave system which was created before the site was covered by the ocean.

Caye Caulker Local Diving
The Caye Caulker Marine Reserve is a newly protected area. Dive sites such as Raggedy Anne and Tunnels have been some of divers favorites sites . The dive occurs in between and across coral canyons to a maximum depth of 70ft/ 21m. You spend the surface interval at Caye Caulker’s Shark and Ray alley where you can swim with Nurse Sharks and Southern Sting Rays. Divers will enjoy the shallow dives and get to see a good variety of sea life and coral.

Start your day with a two or three tank local dive! Conveniently The Barrier Reef is just about 5-10 minutes away from the San Pedro dive center. Explore spur and groove canyons which go from east to west along the second largest barrier reef in the world! Hol Chan Marine Reserve was designated as marine sanctuary in 1987. It was the first time in Central America that natural parks in the sea are designated. Hol Chan Marine Reserve, rightly so, the most popular snorkeling destination in Belize. The words hol chan mean ‘little channel’ in the Maya language and as such it has always been a natural hang out spot for marine life. It was identified as an abundant area for marine life and so over 35 years ago it became a Reserve. The reserve covers about five square miles and about nine miles North East of Caye Caulker. The channel is about 30 feet deep, and since no fishing is permitted in the reserve, it is rich with sea life of every description . Snorkelers can expect to see abundant angelfish, blue-stripped grunts, schoolmaster snappers and hundreds of other varieties. It is also known for the green moray eels living in tiny caves along the wall.

Taking a journey into the Mayan underworld at Actun Tunichil Muknal, or the “Cave of the Stone Sepulchre”,will be one of the most enlightening, epic, and unique experiences of your life. The hike includes three stream crossings.
